Fastening for stocking type filter bag to manifold plate - sandwiches turn-down of bag top between plate and bayonet fixing collar

Device for fastening a stocking type filter bag to the horizontal manifold plate of an air box. The bag is suspended through a hole in the plate, the top of the bag being externally folded back on itself to form a turndown on the upper side of the plate. The turndown is now sandwiched between the top of the manifold plate and the underside of a collar. The collar has radial pins which extend to engage bayonet fixing slots in ring fixed to the top of the manifold plate. The collar is pref. a flange on the outside of a nozzle, e.g. a Venturi nozzle, which extends down inside the filter bag. The collar bayonet pins and nozzle are pref. formed as a single piece, e.g. as a plastic moulding. The turndown at the top of the filter bag is pref. made around a reinforcing hoop. The filter pref. contains an internal support frame to prevent its collapse under internal suction. Used to secure stocking type filter bags to the manifold plate of an air box. Fixing and dismantling are quicker and easier than when the bags are secured with bands, clamps and/or screw mountings.
