<p>Method for connecting two optical fiber cables, the optical fibers being arranged on a dielectric support. The centering and alignement of the fibers is effected by centering rods (63) inserted in longitudinal openings of an integral flange of an extension terminal (31) of the dielectric support (1), at least one of those openings being located at a distance from the cable axis higher than the radius of the cable.
