<p>Cladding is fitted to a support structure, with heat-insulating material held in the latter, on an external wall face prefabricated unit. The load bearing structure of the component consists of a prefab. frame or shell structure, with the heat-insulating material (26) located in it. It has covered fixing devices (24,25) for anchoring it to an external wall. It also has a weatherproof outside cladding (28). A frame structure can be a rectangular tubular frame, with rendering support and plastic rendering, or other facing. A shell structure can be a self-supporting shell, cast or foamed with insulation. This permits rapid and easy increase in insulation in localised areas where insulation is minimal.</p> |
