The fluidised-bed firing equipment comprises a combustion chamber (I) and a regeneration chamber (II) in the same hollow body (1), separated by a vertical partition (6). Both chambers have floors consisting of perforated plates (10,12) carrying heat transfer material (7,8) containing fluidisable desulphuriser. The combustion chamber has fittings (19,20) for introducing fuel and air; and for introducing fluidising-cum-regenerating gas. Each has a gas outlet (24,26). The partition has upper (2) and lower (4) openings, the latter near the perforated plates. Arrangements are made to transport heat transfer material into the regeneration chamber through the lower opening; the upper is located high enough to ensure return flow.
