<p>PURPOSE:To enable the easy performance of changing over between power running and regenerative braking running of the AC electric vehicle by a method wherein the secondary windings for power running and for braking are provided at the secondary side of a transformer. CONSTITUTION:The secondary winding 21 for power running and the secondary winding 22 for braking are provided in the transformer 2, a power rectifier 31 consisting of diodes on the whole arms is connected to the secondary winding 21 for power running and a power inverter 32 consisting of thyristors on the whole arms is connected to the secondary winding 22 for braking. When power running is to be performed, AC voltage in the winding 21 for power running is applied to an induction motor 9 through the power rectifier 31, a filter, inverter 8. When regenerative braking is to be performed, electric power is fed back from the induction motor 9 to the contact wire through the inverter 8, the power inverter 32 and the transformer 2. Accordingly changing over between power running and regenerative braking running can be performed easily.</p> |
