<p>The method of mounting a deflection coil assembly around the neck (4) of a colour CRT uses three equally spaced securing screws (6) projecting forwards from the flanged end of the coil assembly housing (5) for attachment to a sleeve (8) around the neck. The screws pass through internally threaded bushes (7) through the flange, permitting accurate adjustment. Each screw is hollow, and an adhesive (9) can be injected through the interior to fill the hollow space inside the sleeve to form a strong joint. The coil assembly is installed by a fitting mounted on a carriage, having three motor driven screwdrivers projecting towards the assembly for adjusting the screws. The fitting is rotated so that three injector needles in line with the screws are inserted through them, and the adhesive forced through them.</p> |
