<p>An alpha olefin polymerized catalyst and the preparation thereof. The catalyst comprises a silica xerogel having a surface area in the range of 200 to 500 m2/g and a pore volume greater than about 2.0 cc/g, a major portion of the pore volume being provided by pores having diameters in the range of 300 to 600 .ANG., said xerogel comprising from 0.25 to 6.0 weight percent water and the level of water being regulated within ? 0.15 weight percent.</p> |
