PURPOSE:To improve the long term reliability and change-discharge characteristic by using a chalcogen compound containing specific transition metal elements with spinel structure as a positive active material for a solid electrolyte battery the negative active material of which is an alkali metal. CONSTITUTION:The negative active material 8 is an alkali metal or alloy of an alkali metal, preferably a lithium alloy, and the solid electrolyte 7 is preferably lithium nitride. A chalcogen compound generally formulated by MAIIMB2IIIX4 where M represens a transition metal element (I, III represent valency of ions) with spinel crystal structure is used for the positive active material 6. CoFe2S4, CuCr2Se4, or CuSr2Te4 is used, for example, as a chalcogen compound. |
