PURPOSE:To accurately position the cutting edge chip of a chisel for chipping building stone, concrete and the like on its center line by fitting the cutting edge chip into the spot facing hole provided in the steel holder metal and brazing them. CONSTITUTION:A spot facing hole 6 is provided in the bottom of a padding hole 5 of large diameter provided in a steel holder metal 1. After a cutting edge chip 2 has been fitted into said spot facing hole 6, a large amount of brass 3 or the like which has been melted on heating is cast into the padding hole 5 to braze them unitarily. After the brass 3 has solidified on cooling, the cutting edge is ground into a conical shape to obtain a chipping chisel having the cutting edge chip 2 on the center line. |
