The detachable fastener is for a flexible component, e.g. a canopy, for the side of a lorry or trailer. A hinge (2) turns by means of a trunnion (5) on the side or tailboard (1). A locking member (3) turns by a second trunnion (16) on the hinge at its free upper end. The top end of the member is shaped to secure the canopy (4) to a mating fixed portion of the side. The overall height of hinge and member is greater than the distance between the first trunnion (5) and the fixed portion and the elasticity of the components causes the second trunnion to snap under toggle action into the engaged position past a line joining the fixed portion and the first trunnion.
