PURPOSE:To provide uniform molten steel temperature in a ladle and enhanced degasing effect by installing an electrode that heats molten steel from the upper position and a vertically moving suction pipe that is inserted into molten steel and projects gas. CONSTITUTION:A ladle 1 containing molten steel is housed in a vacuum vessel 2. A hole 4 is drilled on the top cover 3 of the vessel 2, and a heating electrode 8 is air-tightly inserted through the hole and supported with an electrode support 7. A guide bar 13 is air-tightly and tiltedly inserted through the opening 10 of the cover 3. The guide bar 13 is made vertically movable by connecting its upper end to drive 14 via gear 22, and its lower end is provided with a blowing-up pipe 12. The pipe 12 consists of refractory material having core metal 16 and has an inert gas duct 19 at lower inside and a hole 18 at its upper part. The vessel 2 is vacuumed through discharge pipe 6; molten steel is heated by the electrode 8. The blowing-up pipe 12 is inserted into molten steel to blow out inert gas from the duct 19 so that molten metal is overflowed from the hole 18 and agitated. In this manner, desulfurizing and deoxidizing reaction is effectively performed. |
