The vehicle arrives on site with the boom arm (6) held in the chassis and with the three bridge track sections (1,2,3) stacked one above the other and against the back stop (5). At the crossing, the boom extends with the spatula end (9) taking a firm grip on the far bank, the boom reveals rollers (7). Jacks support the middle and top bridge sections while the bottom one is forced out by driven tooth wheels running in tracks on the underside of the section. The operation is repeated until all three sections have been deployed and connected, when the boom is withdrawn.
