<p>The front stand end accommodates a cow in a feeding and lying position, and comprises two columns joined by a top cross-tube and mounted on the lateral frames enclosing the position. Two beams on the cross-tube fit part-way round the neck of the animal and restrict forward shoulder movement. The beams (17,18) hinge forward on the cross-tube (4) away from the lying position (1) for a limited amount. One or both the columns (2,3) can have a guide rail (21) with a stop (24) for the respective beam, and they can also have a horizontal barrier tube (25) adjustable for height. In its uppermost position the distance from this to the beams is less than the height of a cow's neck.</p> |
