The measuring machine checks the dimensions of workpieces on a production line - especially the dimensions of a vehicle body during manufacture. It consists of two coplanar face plates with two identical support columns. Each comprises a horizontally movable carriage and a vertical column mounted on the carriage with guides extending along the z-axis. The guides provide a slide supporting a carriage moving along the y-axis, which in turn carries an arm of which the free end is attached to a detector head. The machine provides accurate measurements of the vehicle dimensions during mfr.
