PURPOSE:To enable the enhancement of the production rate of a discharge lamp, by installing a case charged with a gas in an outer tube, and making the outer tube to be sealed, before the gas flow out of the case into the outer tube until a necessary pressure of the gas within the outer tube is achieved. CONSTITUTION:A gas is charged into a case 35, either a part or all of which is made of a material which has very small permeability to the charged gas at the normal temperature. The case 35 is installed in an outer tube 20, before the outer tube 20 is sealed. The gas charged flows through the case 35 into the outer tube 20, until a required pressure of the gas is obtained. Consequently, the introduction of a gas into the outer tube 20 is unnecessary, and thereby the production rate of a discharge lamp can be increased. |
