PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory, by obtaining the Chinese character code using frequency of a kana (Japanese syllabary)-Chinese character conversion dictionary file, registering the codes having a using frequency higher than a certain level into a conversion table with addition of an index number and then sampling the character codes in the order of the higher using frequency to form a Chinese character font memory. CONSTITUTION:The Chinese character codes used by the kana-Chinese character conversion dictionary file 1 are inspected successively, and a frequency table is produced by the frequency table producing part 4. Then the using frequency of the table is obtained, and an index number is added to each code having a higher using frequency than a certain level to register these codes into the conversion table producing part 5. This index number is used for the address of the character font memory 3, and the font data of the Chinese character code is transferred from the character font file 2 to secure a correspondence between the index number and the font data. Thus a font memory 3 is produced. An alternation is secured for the contents of the memory 3 in accordance with the using frequency of the Chinese character code that is put into the process part 8 from the input part 7. In this way, the capacity can be reduced for the memory 3. |
