PURPOSE:To obtain a color proof rapidly, by properly adding another component color to one of a component separated color in exposure to this color, in contact printing on a specified color photographic material a transmission type black-and- white dot image obtained by separating a color original into component colors. CONSTITUTION:A color original is separated into blue, yellow, and green component color dot images to form transmission type black-and-white dot images, and these images are processed so that the intensity curves are continuous and the overall photographic gradient which is obtained by tying intersecting point A of the characteristic curve shown by the equation and line log+0.05 with intersecting point B of said curve and line D=2 and defined as a photographic gradient is >=2. These images are successively contact printed on a color photographic material, and color developed. At that time, for example, a filter for red exposure is used and it is exposed to the red light for 85% of the whole exposure time, and it is exposed to the green light for the rest of the time, thus permitting a color proof with high resemblance to the image to be printed, to be obtained by adding another color to the component color in exposure to this color. |
