PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission-type object detection system which performs object detection reliably, even when optical signal, causing disturbance from a remote control or the like, is incident. SOLUTION: The object detection system comprises a light-emitting means 1 which transmits a plurality of optical signals, having different light emitting frequencies to a presence expectation place SY of an object; a light-receiving means 2 which receives the plurality of optical signals transmitted from the light-emitting means 1 and passed through the presence expectation place SY of an object; and a decision means 100 which decides the presence of the object at the presence expectation place SY, on the basis of remaining optical signals after removing optical signals, of which a light-receiving signal of the light receiving means 2 does not respond to the light-emitting signal of the light-emitting means 1, from the plurality of optical signals.
