The method operates with main and secondary signals, wherein, from an extension of one PABX system, a call-back in a different PABX system belonging to the same PABX system network can be stored. The address of the telephone station requesting the call-back which is also to be stored is derived from an identifier. It is used in particular in PABX networks with dial-up sub-system traffic. Specific different signals are provided for the <<telephone station free>> and <<telephone station busy>> information. Following identification of the signals (HK5, HK6, HK7) indicating a <<telephone station busy>> in the first system (HA), a signal string (HK8, HKS) which stores a call-back request and which initiates the subsequent call-back from the second system can be transmitted from the calling telephone station. The address of the calling telephone station of the first system (HA) which is contained in the identifier (NK1 to NKn) is stored for a call-back in the second system (UA). <IMAGE>
