An elastic flooring, esp. one with a pointwise elasticity for sports purposes, consists of layers of a homogeneous open-celled soft polyurethane foam which has been reinforced by an embedded tear-resistant tissue of polyester or glass fibre. Strips are applied esp. at the butt joints, of the elastic panels, of woven tear resistant polyester tissue, coated with a fusible adhesive, and a solid bond is effected with the elastic layer by hot rolling, hot ironing or high-frequency heating. This simplifies a finishing operation to ensure that even the butt joints of elastic flooring panels have the same elasticity as the rest. |
