PURPOSE:To decrease the power consumption of a heating roller by providing a conveying system relating to fixing independently irrespective of the speed of other copying processes and setting this slower than other copying processes thereby lowering the temp. of the heating roller. CONSTITUTION:While members other than members relating to a fixing mechanism 7, including a photosensitive drum 1, a resist roller 3, a stripping roller 5, a guide belt 6, etc. are driven by a motor M1 as a driving source, the conveying belt 7a and heating roller 7b relating to the fixing mechanism 7 are so constituted as to be driven by another motor M2 and the driving speed of the motor M2 is set lower than the driving speed of the motor M1 based on copying sizes and therefore the surface temp. of the heating roller 7b is set lower by as much as it corresponds to the extension of the time required for fixing owing to the lowered speed, thus the power consumption for the heating roller 7b is decreased. |
