A series of collapsed open ended sleeve-type cartons(C) is withdrawn in sequence from a hopper(30) by a feeder which engages a single wall of each carton and moves to cause another wall of the carton to engage a fixed cam(33) having a camming surface(33) at an angle to the direction of feed movement of cartons from the hopper so as to set up the open ended sleeve-type carton.
