Solar collector panel assembly - has ribbed surface, for multiple reflection of radiation to increase absorption efficiency

The solar collector may have a pyramid-shaped or ribbed surface (1). This permits multiple reflection of the infrared solar radiation (2), and higher utilisation efficiency. Radiation trapped by the ribbed surface (1) heats water pipes (3) embedded under the ribs. Typically, there is one pipe under each rib. The ribs are made of a material which is strongly absorbant in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
