The tool is fitted to a plough frame (12) with a sliding carriage (13) for travelling along a guide frame, on a machine for removing dirt and worn filler from expansion and other joints in a concrete track of road. Connection between plough frame and carriage permits swivelling about horizontal and vertical axes. The machine (10) activates a device for holding the tools down (15), hinged on both sides between carriage and plough frame. One or more support wheels (16) have running axes (17) vertically adjustable, depending on required depth of tool penetration into the joint (18). This operates quickly, with min. traffic interruption.
