PURPOSE:To increase the cooling effect of the transformer without obstructing the insulation of a high voltage winding by dipping only a low voltage winding in a coolant having condensability. CONSTITUTION:The low voltage winding 1 is wound in a cylindrical shape around an iron core 2, and dipped in a nonmetallic container 4 in which coolant 3 such as Freon or the like is filled. The heat from the winding 1 is dissipated by the cooling effect of the coolant 3. That is, when the coolant 3 reaches a predetermined constant temperature depending upon the pressure, it is evaporated or vaporized to derive vaporization latent heat therefrom. Accordingly, the coolant 3 itself cannot rise higher than the temperature. On the other hand, the high voltage winding 5 is insulated by insulating fluid 6 such as SF6 gas or the like, and cooled by the convection of the fluid 6. |
