<p>The aquarium or terrarium is constructed with a shallow depth and finished to resemble a framed picture. It is intended to be hung on a wall as an interior decorator item. The electrical equipment required for environment control in the enclosure is installed in a separate compartment where it cannot be seen from the front. A shallow rectangular box (2) has a rigid back (34) with a thermally insulating covering. Fittings for wall mounting are fixed to the back. A glass cover (38) is provided at the front with decorative edging (37). In the bottom a perforated plastics cover (7) has sand underneath to allow waste to fall through to be chemically treated. A strip light with adjustable intensity is fitted in the top of the enclosure and a separate compartment (27) includes heaters, filters and air pumps together with all control electronics.</p> |
