PURPOSE:To enable reliable control of ink temperature, by a method wherein ink temperature is detected as changes in pressure in an enclosed chamber and a heater is controlled by results so detected. CONSTITUTION:A change in the pressure of Freon gas sealed into a receptacle 20 wherein an ink feed pipe is enclosed, is detected by a pressure sensor 21. The pressure in the receptacle 20 is set as function of the temperature in the receptacle 20, and with the pressure, i.e., temperature in the receptacle 20 detected, a control circuit 20 is actuated. Through the control of a heater 23, the pressure, i.e., temperature in the receptacle 20 is kept constant. As a result, temperature of ink supplied to an ink jet head 1 is always kept to a given temperature. |
