<p>Water is passed from a relative flow thereof in a horizontal direction, into a substantially vertical passage and through a bed of absorption material in a fluidized state, in order to extract a substance from the water. The static pressure of the water is increased by passing the water through a diffuser means before it passes into the vertical passage.</p> |
