The support (1) e.g. for shelving is in the form of a metal rod deformed to provide two sides of a right-angled triangle. The third side of the triangle is formed by a wall to which the support is attached. The free end of the horizontal side has a magnet for securing the support to a metal wall while the lower side carries a rubber foot or other means of protecting the wall. The corner of the support is deformed upwardly to retain articles on the support. The angle between the two support sides is typically 30 to 40 degrees. The surface of the magnet is typically greater than 20 square centimeters.
