A corrugated sheet is bent in stages transversely to its corrugations by a process in which the underside of the corrugation channels (32) are provided with transverse indentations (31). These indentations are made along straight lines which run transversely to the corrugations, indentations and, moreover, protruberances (36) likewise arising in the side walls (30) connecting the channels (32) to the ridges. Each row of indentations has the effect of bending the sheet without any deleterious straining of the sheet. <IMAGE>
