A nut for a screw bolt has a protective cap (2) secured nondetachably to one side (4). In order to produce a nondetachable and fluid-tight connection between the nut and cap without the spanner attack surface being impaired, whilst achieving minimum material consumption and permitting adaptation of the cap to different lengths of bolt, a depression (6) is produced in the side (4) and the cap secured within it. The cap (2) may be alternatively of disc-shape, Fig. 6 (not shown). The cap may be secured by deforming the depression rim as at 8 or by adhesive or solder. <IMAGE> |
