<p>An aqueous dispersion of a synthetic polymer of average diameter in the range of 50 to 500 nm and especially above 75 nm is disclosed, the aqueous dispersion having a solids content of 5 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts per weight of total dispersion. The aqueous dispersion is provided by effecting polymerization in the presence of an emulsifier which comprises an alkali metal salt of a polysulfonic acid of an alkane of medium chain length e.g. 8 to 22 carbon atoms.</p> |
