Reading subscriber telephone number into memory - by keeping entry button continuously depressed whilst selecting digits in turn on keyboard

The application is to subscriber instruments with digital key board and memory register for storing frequently used numbers. To read a number into the memory (SP) a special key, or entry button (Ta) is pressed and held down. The digits of the number to be stored are then entered by pressing the relevant keys (T1...TO) in turn. Normally the first digit gives the register address and the rest the telephone number. A processor, or control unit, (SE) supervise the key board. When the entry key and one other is depressed the desire to store a number is noted, the entry key signal briefly interrupted, and the digit placed into the register. To select a stored number for transmission into the network the entry key (Ta) is depressed and released, and then the appropriate register number key pressed. The processor then reads out and transmits the number pulses into the system. The proposed procedure is simple to follow, being very little different from normal dialling.
