<p>A method and apparatus for switching thyristor bridges in converting alternating current statically to direct current by the aid of two thyristor bridges connected in parallel so that a direct current machine consuming direct current will receive both positive and negative current. One and the same analog voltage controls both thyristor bridges so that when the controlling analog voltage is positive the first bridge is open and when the controlling analog voltage is negative the second bridge is open, and that as the circuit approaches zero-current state the bridges shift to a reciprocally oscillating mode of operation.</p> |
