The heating device is for young animals, particularly piglets, and is capable of flexible working with low energy consumption. It comprises a plate-shaped construction with a heat-generating foil element which radiates heat towards the floor of the stall. The plate is heat-conducting and plate and element together are equipped with a central cavity containing a guide lamp.
