<p>The fitting for a car rear view mirror gives an indication of distance and speed of the images seen. In front of the mirror is placed a transparent plate of rigid plastics, acrylic or other synthetic material. On the rear plate face is a metallic application of vertical lines, such as a scale. The plate is 4mm thick and fits into the normal mirror surround in a precise way. In case of accident the plate gives some protection against flying glass.</p> |
