<p>The fixing device is particularly in the form of an anchor bolt engaging in an undercut portion in the wall of a drilled hole, and has an internally or externally threaded portion for engagement by the item to be secured in place. It is relieved at the forward end to accommodate an expanding sleeve with a lengthwise slot right through it. The sleeve (4) is of spring material, tapering towards the forward end of the bolt (2). In the unloaded state, the smaller end of the sleeve is of the same or lesser diameter than the hole, while its larger end is of greater diameter than the hole.</p> |
