摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent an internal combustion engine from becoming extremely unstable and prevent the feeling of riding on an automobile as well as a drivability from worsening by prohibiting the output of a lock-up signal while a lean burn signal is being outputted. CONSTITUTION:When judged an air-fuel ratio feedback control zone by means of an O2 sensor, the gear position of a transmission is judged from a vehicle speed VSP and an engine speed N. Then, if a cooling water temperature TW is within a lean-burn controllable temperature range, a lean data map which is previously set for each gear position is selected in accordance with the gear position. And, by comparing the lean data map with an actual throttle valve opening TVO and the vehicle speed VSP, when these are within a lean burn zone, the feedback control is stopped while an open loop in which a target air-fuel ratio is set to a defined lean side air-fuel ratio, i.e., a lean burn control is carried out outputting a lock-up prohibition signal to an AT control unit 6, and lock up is not carried out while the lock-up prohibition signal is being outputted.
