PURPOSE:To obtain an absolute-value circuit of low power consumption that generates an output in proportion to the absolute value of a difference in input voltage and suits with IC implementation. CONSTITUTION:Corresponding to input signals applied to input terminals 1 and 2, the 1st circuit 3 generates the 1st and 2nd electric currents and outputs an electric current, equivalent to the difference between both the currents when the 1st current is greater than the 2nd current, to unidirectional circuit method 5 in one direction or a difference current in the opposite direction when smaller. The 2nd circuit 4 generates the 1st and 2nd currents corresponding to the 1st and 2nd input signals and outputs a difference current in one direction when the 1st current is smaller than the 2nd current to unidirectional circuit method 5 or a difference current in the opposite direction when larger. This circuit method 5 flows currents from circuits 3 to output terminal 6 in only one direction. Thus, the absolute-value circuit is constituted which permits the difference current to flow in only one direction to output terminal 6 without reference to which of the 1st and 2nd currents is greater. |
