The spectrometer has a dispersion device for separating the spectral components and an optoelectronic multi-channel transducer coupled to a multi-channel store. The range detected by the transducer is shifted relative to the spectrum by an amount corresponding to the width of several channels and its outout signals are fed to the respective channels of the store before shifting for adding to the previously entered contents. Before a further addition to the store contents these are transferred between channels by an amount corresponding to the transducer shift, so that several initial channels of the store are cleared and the contents of the corresponding number of the last channels are transferred to an additional number of store channels.
