This invention is to provide a process for preparing silver-containing catalysts of producing ethylene oxide. A catalyst support comprising mainly porous graphite having sp. surface 10cm2/g and pore vol. 0.1-0.4cm3/g, contg. 40% pores with diam. >= 6.6μ and 90% pores with daim. < 6.6 μ, and contg. 5-20% Ag is used in epoxidn. of C2H4 at >=14≦̸C, giving a 10% conversion and 74% selectivity to ethylene oxide.
