PURPOSE:To produce standard gas in a box body itself and employ the same in a stable condition of a long time by impressing the DC voltage to a pair of electrodes provided on a solid electrolyte constituting a part of the box body having a slender hole and by making the inside of the box body a standard gas chamber filled with oxygen of a fixed density. CONSTITUTION:The box body 6 provided with the slender hole 7 is fitted to a solid electrolyte plate 1 provided with two pairs of facing electrodes 2, 3, 4 and 5 and having an oxygen ion transmitting property. Next, DC field is impressed on the electrodes 2 and 3 from a DC power source 9 through the intermediary of leads 8 and 8', the outside oxygen is sent into the box body 6 through the electrolyte plate 1 and this oxygen is made to flow outside the box body 6 again through the slender hole 7. On the occasion, the size of the slender hole 7 is adjusted to such an extent that the oxygen inside the boxy body 6 flows outside, while outside gaseous body does not flow into the box body 6 and the inside of the box body 6 is made to be the standard gas chamber filled with the oxygen of a fixed density. And, to a pair of electrodes 4 and 5 is connected a voltmeter 11 through the intermediary of leads 10 and 10' to measure the voltage, and the density of oxygen in the outside is found from the relation between the partial pressure of oxygen and the voltage inside the box body 6. |
