PURPOSE:To execute the fixing treatment by waste heat, and prevent generating fire, by controlling so that the copying paper of specified thickness and size is stopped once in the fixing device, and cut off the power supply to the heater. CONSTITUTION:When the thick paper copy switch 29 is operated, the conducting angle of the AC power supplied to the heater 197 is controlled through the interface 165, the microprocessor 171, the fixing heater control circuit 167, etc., and temperature of the fixing device by the thermister 199 becomes as specified. And, in case when it has been decided by the paper size timer that the form which is thicker than specified is a specified small size such as a postcard, etc., the conveyor solenoid 181 is excited when the paper detection switch 157 has detected the tip of the form, and the form is stopped in the fixing device. Until approx. 0.5sec passes from said moment, the specified power is supplied to the heater 197 through the timer and the fixing treatment is executed exactly, and after that, the form conveyed by demagnetization of the solenoid 181 is brought to the fixing treatment by waste heat of the heater 197. It this way, not only a thick form can be treated exactly by a little power consumption but also fire is prevented even if a thin paper is used in case of a thick paper mode. |
