The securing strip for a car roof trim has a metal strip around which the edge of the trim is bent and with a series of stamped tags to secure the fabric. The tags also serve as retaining ratchets when the strip and fabric is pushed into the securing groove at the edge of the roof frame. The securing groove is formed at the edge seam of the outer and inner skins of the roof structure, secured by point welds. The securing strip secures any thickness of material and is simple to apply and fit.
