<p>Each cell of a photo-electric cell arrangement 16, 18, 20 is designed to be most efficient in a particular light waveband. A cylindrical diffraction grating 22 which receives light from a mirror system (10, Fig. 1) through a slot 12 divides the light into the particular wavebands required.
