The closure (4) is intended for the inspection cover (6) of a helical chute (1), partic. as used in underground mining operations. The outer wall of the chute section (1) is provided with two parallel guide rails (10,11) which grip around the upper and lower edges of the cover. The cover carries rollers (18-21) which run on the flange of the lower rail (11). The leading roller (18) in opening direction (X) may have a wiper (25,26) to clear dust off the rail (11) when the cover is opened. The wiper may have a portion (25) curved over the roller (18) and a portion (26) which scrapes along the rail (11).
