In a hybrid circuit for connecting a source (1) and a sink (2) to a two-wire connection line (9) for digital duplex transmission according to the duplex method, the coefficients of a non-recursive digital filter (10) are set to suppress the source signal components in the sink signal in such a way that the mean error component is minimised. The source (1) is connected via a filter (5) and a D/A converter (6) to the hybrid circuit (3). A sample and hold component (8) is fed from the sink arm of the hybrid circuit whose output is connected to the non-inverting input of a substraction circuit (7) comprising an operational amplifier in the compensation circuit (4).
