<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently recover sulfurous acid gas as simple substance of sulfur by a method wherein sulfurous acid gas in waste gas is adsorbed by adsorbent layers, the adsorbent is taken out of the system and is brought into contact with hydrogen sulfide. CONSTITUTION:The waste gas containing sulfurous acid gas 3 from a coal heat power plant, etc. is sent to an adsorption column 4 to cause the sulfurous acid gas to be adsorbed by the adsorbent 5. Then, the adsorbent 5 is charged into a Claus furnace 9 and is brought into contact with hydrogen sulfide 6 which is generated separately. This causes Claus reaction and simple substance of sulfur is deposited on the adsorbent 5. The adsorbent 5 is then sent to a desorption column 10, where the sulfur-deposited adsorbent is heated to effect recovering simple substance of sulfur. In this manner, sulfurous acid in the waste gas is recovered in a dry process without using chemicals.</p> |
