PURPOSE:To improve the curing characteristics and the storage stability of the title compsn., by a method wherein a polyorganosiloxane contg. at least two vinyl gp. bonded to Si per molecule, a polyorganohydrogen siloxane contg. an average of two or more hydrogen atoms bonded to Si per molecule, and a finely divided transition metal powder are blended with a platinum catalyst which does not contain halogen. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a polyorganosiloxane contg. at least two vinyl gp. bonded to Si atom per molecule, 0.1-10pts.wt. of a polyorganohydrogensiloxane contg. an average of two or more hydrogen atoms bonded to Si atom per molecule, and 5-500pts.wt. of a finely divided transition metal powder are blended with a catalytic amount of a platinum catalyst which does not contain halogen, to obtain the title curable compsn. This compsn. has excellent storage stability. The compsn. does not become noncurable and is not cured on standing. The compsn. produces a rubberlike elastic article having excellent mechanical properties by heating it for a short time. |
