PURPOSE:To provide a very useful permanent magnet alloy having a composition represented by a specified relative formula as an intermetallic compound contg. a rare earth metal, Co, Ca, etc. and showing superior residual magnetic flux density and coercive force. CONSTITUTION:This permanent magnet alloy has a composition represented by the formula (where R is one or more kinds of rare earth elements such as Sm and Co, M is Hf, M' is Ca, 0.01<=x<=0.4, 0.02<=y<=0.25, 0.001<=alpha<=0.15, 0.001<=beta<=0.15 and 6<=A<=8.3). The combined addition of Hf and Ca enables a reduction in the time required for heat treatment, and cooling after soln. heat treatment can be carried out at a lower speed by adding Ca, exerting a profound favorable influence on heat treatment. |
